Portrait of a Superhero (Director: Tony Armer, 15 mins) Patrolling the streets of Clearwater, FL in bright red spandex is a man known around the world as “Superhero”. He helps the homeless, provides charity to sick and disadvantaged children, aids stranded motorists, and patrols the streets to prevent crime. Using Godzilla, Star Trek, Superheroes and Science Fiction movies as his role models he overcomes a troubled childhood to become A Real Life Superhero.

The Indies: An Animated Short (Director: DJ Tony Dake, Chaz Bottoms, 6 mins) The film draws inspiration from two worlds that, at first glance, could not be more different: modern day Hip-Hop and the Wild West. The characters are revealed through intense action sequences whose dynamic can change from one moment to the next. This ultimately challenges the audience to decide who they perceive to be heroes and who they perceive to be villains.

Gryphon Amino (Director: MT Maloney, 11 mins) To save his ailing sister, an unlikely hero must journey afar to pluck a feather from the mighty Gryphon in this parody of the classic fairy tale.

Nano (Director: Mike Manning, 16 mins)In the near future, nanotechnology administered into the bloodstream can sync with computer apps to augment the human genome. A new law mandating and regulating this once elective procedure meets resistance from hacktivists who are conspiring to thwart the impending roll-out of “Nano version 2.0.”

Hot N Nerdy (Director: Robert Vornkahl, 15 mins) A nostalgic sitcom pilot about two socially awkward comic nerds whose lives are completely changed when they’re befriended by the first girl they’ve ever seen at a comic book convention. Set in the year 2000, this is a heartfelt and humorous look back at a time before cons went mainstream.
