GeekFest Jr Coming to HawaiiCon
What is GeekFest Jr?
It’s a mini film festival developed by GeekFest Film Fests and HawaiiCon to celebrate, educate and screen short films created by young filmmakers across the Hawaiian Islands that have created science fiction, fantasy, fan films or geek related genre films or plan too!
Open to middle school, high school and college aged students, and the best films will be screened at HawaiiCon on Sunday Sept 16th at HawaiiCon.
All films must have short run times under 15 mins, and be rated PG13 or below and can be live action or animated.

GeekFest Film Fests are the World’s Largest Traveling Geek Film Festival programming the best independent genre films at Comic Cons around the World.
For 5 years GeekFest has been traveling around North America presenting the best in science fiction, horror, fantasy, action, fan films and more.
In association with GeekFest Film Fests, HawaiiCon and the HAWAII ISLAND FILM OFFICE on the Big Island!

Entry Period April 20 – Aug 1 2018
$20 entry fee for all participants to take part in the contest.
Paid via PAYPAL on the application form.
Open to all Hawaiian Island students
Short film of less than 15 minutes, with the theme of science, science fiction, fantasy, horror or fan film based on any pop culture fandom.
Film must be directed by a Student (Intermediate, High School, College)
Film must be PG13 or below
Student must be a from the Hawaiian Islands
Every Entrant will be invited to HawaiiCon ( $70 Value)
Selections will be announced 4 weeks prior to HawaiiCon and posted on the HawaiiCon and GeekFest Film Fests Websites.
(Voted on by the attendees at HawaiiCon screening)
Invited to HawaiiCon 2019 and receive 2 complimentary passes
A day on a working film set sponsored by Honua Studios
(Parent/guardian is responsible for travel to and from set if winner is a minor)
